Papertrey Embellished Elegance and Gatsby Glamour

Another entry for the bloghop-- quite a bit more bling than I'd usually put but the challenge is "high-gloss" so..."when in Rome..."!
I used patterned paper from Crate Paper's Oh Darling collection, embossed the frame from Gatsby Glamour with gold and then used a mixture of Ruby Reprise, Embellished Elegance and Rosie Posie for the 'floral spray'. Finished it off with sequins and we're done!

Papertrey Ink's March Blog Hop- High Gloss!

March-Blog-Hop-Inspiration

So, we were supposed to get out our glossy accents, embossing powders and glitter and essentially ... go to town! As a complete side note, it's funny how these colloquialisms become so normal to us but yet when my 3 year old son heard " go to town" he giggled and said, "But I cannot go to town alone, I'm not big enough!". Ha! At first this card may not appear completely glossy, but quite a bit of embossing powder and sprinkles of sequins were used, so I thought it fit the bill!
For a combination of gloss but still softness, I heat embossed the Rosie Posie flower and leaf on vellum in an opaque, white color. Then, for a bit more 'bling', I heat embossed the sentiment in gold and finished it off with a few sequins sprinkled. I have a few more posts coming as I have a few more entries for the blog hop, so I hope you stick around for more! :)

Another One Card, Two Challenges Post

Just a quick post for my submissions to both Cute Card Thursday, themed "Girls, Girls, Girls", as well as Passion for Promarkers Challenge, monochromatic! Hope you enjoy!

Simon Says Stamp Mother's Day Challenge

The challenge this week over at the SimonSaysStampBlog is to make a card for the lovely women of our lives... our mothers! Here is my submission, using Hero Arts' Soft Blossom ink, beautiful patterned papers from AC, vellum topped with white embossing powder and (of course) Papertrey Ink's Rosie Posie stamp set... a new favorite, as I'm sure you've noticed!

Here is a close up of the banner and 'Mom', which was pieced together with a Fiskars alphabet stamp set.

Hope you enjoyed and craft on!

Passion for ProMarkers-- Butterfly Kisses Challenge

Just a quick post so that I may submit a card into the Passion for ProMarkers' challge. We are to use ProMarkers and have butterflies in our composition! Unfortunately the lighting was horrendous and my camera not functioning so terrible phone photo for this one...I'll take some better pictures tomorrow and swap them out! But for now, please bear with my terrible phone quality photograph!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

In honor of this green-filled holiday, here are a few cards--
I went with a fairly shabby chic, vintage look with these cards. The lovely leprechaun-delicious stamp set is from Taylored Expressions and the cut shamrocks are from My Favorite Things. The stamps were colored in slightly with my Copics and Spectrum Noirs.

I used special edition patterned papers from Echo Park and the die cuts are from Spellbinders. Such fun!
So that's all for today and just as the card sentiment says...eat, drink and be Irish today! :)

One Card, Two Challenges

Today's post makes me feel quite the multi-tasker... this will be an entry both for the Card Concept Challenge and for this week's Make It Monday from Papertrey Ink. For the PTI challenge, we had to use die cuts to create confetti... so naturally I thought a shaker card would be perfect! I die cut the leaves and flowers from Polka Dot Parade "Thanks" and even some of the smaller florals from Rosie Posie and foliage from Cutting Garden. I layered with papers from American Crafts' spring release, die cut a tag from a lovely Spellbinders' tag die and finished it off with more florals and this wonderfully sweet sentiment. To fit into the Card Concept's challenge requirements, I used Hero Arts' Green Hills and Cup O' Joe. Lots of fun!
I couldn't quite decide if it fit into the "Clean and Layered" category or if it was more of a "Classy Elegant" card. Both share some similar attributes-- layering, ribbon.... perhaps you can tell me?! Well that's all for today, thanks for stopping by, have a wonderful weekend and craft on!

PTI Cards

A couple weeks ago I received my 'special delivery' from PTI and have been simply having a blast with all the products-- here are some of my creations:

I have been salivating over the Star Gazer stamp set for quite some time and finally splurged and purchased it. I love the personalization it yields birthday cards due to the zodiac signs and accompanying sentiments.

Also finally purchased Rosie Posie and I am officially addicted! So beautiful and romantic.

Here I used Rosie Posie and Cutting Garden (another new one!) and some lovely Spring themed papers from American Crafts. I just absolutely adore how aqua and baby pink complement one another!

The inside of the card... I'm big into decorating the insides, as well.

This and the next project were so fun to create! We have recently welcomed another adorable little human into our family and I thought it would be fun to use my new found knitting skills to create a little beanie for my adorable lil' niece. Then I used the "Care Instructions" mini stamp set from PTI to create a tag.

Here I used the new Special Delivery set, coupled with Cutting Garden to create the accompanying gift tag. Just so much fun and girlie!

That's all for today...hope you enjoyed and craft on!

Virginia's View- Watercolor Challenge #1

Happy, Monday crafters! I was checking out all of my favorite blogs as usual as that is the first thing I do when I wake up (thank you, Google Reader!) and so many were submitting to Virginia View's first challenge. So I decided I had to participate too! Here is my entry and there may be more submissions as the week goes on... enjoy!

This card was originally going to be submitted for PTI's MIM Watercolor challenge but unfortunately my internet connection, well...didn't connect and I missed the deadline! Used the Star Gazer and Star Gazer additions stamp set, Distress inks in Seedless Preserves, Evergreen Bough and Salted Ocean. Though it's not apparent I mixed in some mica pigment powder to give it a beautiful sheen.

Hope you enjoyed this submission and now I'm off to the blog to link up!

Craft on,

MIM PTI- Entry #2

Technically not a one layer card but the rules were pretty relaxed... so hopefully this makes the grade!

MIM PTI One Layer Card Challenge

So here is my entry for the one layer card challenge over at the PTI blog. Admittedly one-layer cards are not even remotely my style or strength but I thought I'd give it a try nonetheless... it's a _challenge_ after all! The photo is absolutely terrible-- spent most of the night taking care of my sick son so not much time for adjustments or card making! Enjoy... hopefully! :)
Craft on!
